ART OF WORDS Poets' Open Mic In-Person

This popular monthly event, co-hosted by Tamell "Big" Bailey and CathyB, is a great opportunity for adults and young adults to practice performance skills in front of a small audience, receive feedback, and get inspiration for creating new works. Except for the featured artist, individual performances are limited to 3 minutes and may be on any “radio friendly” topic. If time allows, additional performances may be invited.

Featured Performer

Deborah Jefferson is a 4x published author, poet, and the voice behind Harobeds Thoughts, a platform dedicated to healing, empowerment, and faith. Known for her heartfelt and transparent writing style, she uses poetry as a vessel to explore love, loss, growth, and becoming. As the visionary behind the Our Words Matter Authors Expo, Deborah creates spaces for authors to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Through her work, she continues to inspire women to reclaim their voice and bloom—no matter what they’ve been through.
